RESTOR-A-FINISH is a unique product that contains both a small amount of stain and a bit of solvent, so you can wipe Restor-A-Finish on, rub with the wood grain, then rub again with a clean cloth.
Restor-A-Finish is designed to help you avoid the smelly, toxic and time-consuming job of stripping and restaining antiques. It removes grime and surface buildup on antique, while also tackling problems like white heat rings, water marks, sun-fading, oxidation & smoke damage. The product is able to clean the surface of most existing damage, right through the lacquer then penetrate the wood to blend with the existing stain finish. Because Restor-A-Finish preserves the original wood finish, it also helps preserve the authenticity and value; stripping the finish may literally strip the piece of its value.
Simply refer to the color chart at right when ordering, and choose the finish color that most closely matches the wood on the piece you're restoring, because the Restor-A-Finish does include wood stain in the formula, and you want the closest possible match. Stinky to use, but not as bad as furniture stripper - just use in well ventilated area and open a window.
